CARING
SEGA Girls School in Tanzania
ECC contributes annually to the SEGA Girls School in Tanzania, a residential secondary school for bright and motivated girls who are otherwise unable to attend school due to extreme poverty or personal hardship. The school is located in a rural area of Tanzania, at the foot of the Uluguru Mountains near the town of Morogoro, 190 km west of Dar es Salaam. The Sega Girls School is a program of Nurturing Minds, Inc.

ECC shares a special link to the SEGA Girls School through church member Billie Houghton: Her nieces, Polly Dolan and Tracey Dolan, are co-founders of US-based Nurturing Minds in Africa, and Tracey serves on the board. Polly is founder and director of the SEGA School, and also serves on the Nurturing Minds board.

High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc
High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.: members of Essex Community Church regularly visit the sick and donate funds to help people and their families during their final days on Earth.

Essex Community Church Women’s Organization
The ECC Women (ECCW) are active in many charitable and community efforts, making annual contributions to High Peaks Hospice and Nurturing Minds/Sega School in Tanzania, and assisting with all church-sponsored special events.

The people of Essex Community Church have a long tradition of sharing meals and fellowship with members of the greater Essex community.
